When I announced that Plus UI had reached its end of life last year, I genuinely believed that it was the right decision.
That announcement wasn't written impulsively. It reflected how I felt about the project at the time and the challenges of continuing it. Those reasons were real, and I stand by them.
Over the months that followed, however, I found myself thinking about Plus UI more often than I expected. I continued receiving messages from users, reading feedback, seeing blogs still running the template, and watching people recommend it to others. It reminded me that Plus UI had become much more than a personal project.
After giving it a great deal of thought, I've decided to continue maintaining Plus UI.
This doesn't mean everything has changed overnight, nor does it mean the project is returning to the way it was before. Instead, it means I've found a direction that I believe is more realistic and sustainable.
A New Direction
From this point forward, Plus UI will be developed with a different philosophy.
In the past, development often focused on expanding the template with new functionality. While many of those additions were valuable, I've come to believe that continually increasing the scope of the template isn't the best direction for the project.
Instead, I want Plus UI to become a template that focuses on quality rather than quantity.
That means future work will primarily focus on improving what already exists, fixing bugs, refining existing functionality, improving usability where practical, and ensuring the template continues to work well.
This also means I will be more careful about introducing new features. Every feature increases the amount of work required to maintain the template over time, so new additions will only be considered when I believe they genuinely improve the overall experience.
Likewise, some existing features may be redesigned, simplified, or removed if they no longer fit the long-term direction of the project.
One example of this direction is the experimental AMP feature.
Linked AMP support was introduced as an experimental feature to explore what was possible with Blogger templates. While it was an interesting experiment, I've decided not to continue investing in it. It no longer aligns with the long-term direction of Plus UI, so it will be removed in a future release.
Support and Updates
Plus UI is once again a maintained project, but that should not be interpreted as a promise of frequent updates or ongoing development.
There is no fixed release schedule, no public roadmap, and no guarantee of future features or major versions. Updates will only be released when I believe there are meaningful improvements worth publishing. Some releases may focus on bug fixes, compatibility improvements, or refinements to existing functionality, while others may include larger changes if they benefit the project as a whole.
If weeks, months or even years pass without an update, it simply means there wasn't anything I felt was worth releasing yet.
Support is provided on a best-effort basis. While I appreciate bug reports, feedback, and suggestions, I cannot guarantee response times or that every issue or request will result in a change.
Resuming development does not change what you should expect from Plus UI. Whether you're already using Plus UI or considering it for the first time, future updates are never guaranteed. Any updates, if released, are provided entirely at my discretion and should be considered a bonus rather than a guarantee.
To avoid any misunderstanding, the continuation of Plus UI should not be interpreted as a promise of:
- Lifetime updates.
- Lifetime support.
- Regular release schedules.
- New feature development.
- A public roadmap.
- Guaranteed implementation of feature requests.
- Compatibility with every third-party change.
- Future major versions.

When I published the end-of-life announcement, I believed that chapter had come to a close. I didn't expect to revisit that decision, but I'm grateful that I did.
Plus UI is continuing with a clearer direction and a simpler philosophy. Rather than trying to do everything, I'd rather focus on maintaining a Blogger template that remains reliable, practical, and enjoyable to use.
